HK Lee - Chief Executive Officer
HK Lee founded Kaltec Electronics (KE) in 1990. KE provided computer hardware services and distribution. He is a pioneer in the development of digital video recorders (DVR) and network video recorders (NVR) for enterprise applications. He created the DW® brand in 1998 for KE, broadening his product line to offer complete systems for the surveillance industry. Mr. Lee received a degree in electrical engineering in Seoul, Korea and spent seven years working for the R&D department of Kwanglim Electronics before starting KE.
Wade Thomas - President and Chief Operating Officer
Security industry veteran Wade Thomas joined Kaltec Electronics / DW® Inc. in 2008 as President and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for sales, marketing and operations. Mr. Thomas is on the Board of Directors of Network Optix, an enterprise video software development company, and is a Managing Member of Innovative Security Designs LLC (ISD). He was President of the Americas and VP Sales North America at Samsung CCTV / GVI Security Solutions Inc., VP Sales North America for Tri-Ed Distribution, President of Securus Technologies Group (STG) and Owner / President of Pacific Rim Security / General Security Systems.
Steve Adamczak - Vice President of North America Sales
Steve Adamczak, Vice President of North America Sales, came to DW® in 2010 and has more than 22 years of experience in security and surveillance. He was National Sales Manager for Dedicated Micros and had sales leadership responsibilities at ADI. Mr. Adamczak has a Bachelor of Science in Justice and Policy from Guilford College.
Sunghyun Kim (Paul S. Kim) - Head of Research and Development
Paul S. Kim joined Digital Watchdog as a Software Engineer in 2015. He has developed several DW applications and contributed to the establishment of DW’s R&D division in 2022. Currently, Mr. Kim designs and oversee the myDW Cloud Service. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and a Master’s Degree in Computer Systems. After completing graduate studies, Mr. Kim worked at Samsung Electronics’ Network Division for 10 years, where he developed 3G and 4G mobile communication equipment. During this time, Mr. Kim collaborated with major global telecom operators including NTT (Japan), AT&T (USA), and Sprint (USA). Since 2010, he has led software development teams and developed various security surveillance products and solutions, including IP cameras, network video recorders, and cloud video surveillance solutions.
Patrick Kelly - Senior Director of Strategy
Patrick Kelly, Senior Director of Strategy, has a long history of success with implementing video systems solutions in a variety of applications, from large school districts to complex installations at regional airports and seaports. Prior to Digital Watchdog, he worked with end users, distributors, regional systems integrators, national and global resellers, integration partners, A&Es and consultants as a manufacturer's representative. Kelly holds a degree in Business Management from Florida Atlantic University.
Jim Somerville - Director of Strategic Accounts
Jim Somerville, Director of Strategic Accounts, develops corporate level relationships with National and Regional Systems Integrators and drives sales down through their local offices. Jim has more than 40 years of experience in the security industry, which includes operations, manufacturing, distribution and sales. Some of the companies he has worked for include Honeywell Security Solutions, ADI, Anixter-TriEd [WESCO], OpenEye and Dedicated Micros. Jim has been managing national accounts for more than 20 years.
Mark Espenschied - Director of Marketing
Mark Espenschied, Director of Marketing, joined DW® in 2014. He has 19 years of experience specific to the video surveillance industry and more than 40 years of experience in publishing, marketing, advertising and sales. Mark was previously Director of Marketing Communications at Arecont Vision, Associate Director of Marketing at D-Link Systems and Director of Marketing at Meade Instruments Corp. Following two years abroad in Taiwan R.O.C. and undergraduate studies at the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, Mark earned a bachelor of science degree in Communication with a minor in English from Weber State College.
